Bhushan Desai: Education and Career


After his secondary schooling, Bhushan completed his bachelor’s in pharmacy from Gujarat University in 2003. Following that, he got his MBA from the same institution in 2005.

Upon completing his education, Desai started working as an executive at API Marketing, a role he served for 1 year and 4 months. After that, his career trajectory was a streak of several parts and responsibilities.

Bhushan is an unstoppable force in the world of business. From his first stint in the corporate world, he showed a relentless dedication to achieving exponential success, constantly pushing himself to reach greater heights.

  • Bhushan served as the Assistant Manager for exports at Nectar Lifesciences Limited. He developed an understanding of international trade, which later resulted in a tight-bound export policy of KOWSkin.
  • Bhushan got the position of International business manager at Medreich Limited, where he served till Jan 2009.
  • He joined BIOCON as the Manager for business development, where he met and became friends with Khushwant Bansal, who later Co-Founded KOWSkin with Desai.
  • From Feb 2012 to March 2014, he worked as Assistant General Manager at IPCA Laboratories Ltd.
  • In April 2014, he joined as the Manager for market distributions at Alvogen. He served for 2 years and 7 months in this role.
  • Finally, as the last stop of his journey as an employee, he joined Pharmadax as the Head of Business Development and Licensing. This part-time job continued for 5 years and supported Bhushan while building his Start-Ups, Anya Biopharm and KOWSkin.

Through years of hard work and determination, Bhushan donned many hats in various organizations, constantly improving his skills and knowledge. But he knew he was destined for something greater.

So he took the leap, fuelled by his unshakeable belief in his abilities and passion for innovation and growth and started his entrepreneur journey with ANYA BIOPHARM. With a razor-sharp focus and willingness to take risks, Bhushan has built a thriving enterprise reshaping the industry and setting new standards for success.

KOWSkin and their Products

KOWSkin is a skincare and healthcare brand that offers products to improve and protect skin & hair from pollution damage and natural aging. Bhushan Desai and Mayuri Hitesh boarded as partners in the Beauty Business of the firm.

The products KOWSkin offers include the Malibu lipbalms, Malibu suncare, teotema haircare products. Malibu lip balm, designed to moisturize and protect lips from dryness and cracking, and is part of the Malibu Lipcare collection. Malibu face cream is designed to moisturize and protect the skin from pollution damage and natural aging. A product Bhushan proposed and brought to the market through KOWSkin is KleenOWipe. It is a skincare wipe designed to cleanse and refresh the skin.

The Story Behind KleenOWipe

Bhushan Desai and his wife were excited to attend a wedding. They looked forward to dressing up and celebrating with friends and family. But, as they got ready, his wife realized she had forgotten to pack her makeup cleanser and other double-cleansing essentials.

She started to panic, knowing that leaving makeup on overnight could damage her skin. She looked around the wedding venue for any products that could help her, but she couldn’t find anything that offered skincare on the go. Bhushan watched as his wife struggled to remove her makeup, feeling helpless. He knew there had to be a better way to help her and others in similar situations. So he started researching and found that no available wipes in the market could offer skincare benefits.

This experience inspired Bhushan to create KleenOWipe, Skincare on a Wipe. He wanted to create a product that was easy to use, affordable and offered skincare benefits. After months of research and development, he finally created KleenOWipe.

KleenOWipe quickly became popular, offering convenience and skincare benefits to people. Bhushan is proud that he could help people maintain their skincare routines while being on the go. The success of KleenOWipe shows that sometimes the best ideas come from personal experiences, and anyone can create a successful product by solving a common problem.
