Nayab Singh Saini is an Indian politician and the new chief minister of Haryana after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s resignation. He comes from the OBC community and is a prominent OBC face associated with the BJP and RSS. Saini is currently the 11th CM of Haryana and has served in multiple roles as a Member of the Legislative Assembly and Member of Parliament from Naryangarh and Kurukshetra constituencies, respectively.

Early Life & Education
Nayab Singh was born into a humble Haryanvi Saini family in a small village named Mizapur Majra in the Ambala district of Haryana, India, on 25 January 1970. He completed his schooling at a government school in the village and went on to pursue his BA at Dr B.R. Ambedkar Bihar University in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Saini also completed an LLB from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. He joined the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh and met several key leaders, including Manohar Lal Khattar. Singh was impressed with the vision and purpose of the Sangh and decided to join the BJP and step into politics.

Nayab Singh Saini Career
- Nayab Singh Saini joined the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh in 1994 and worked there for two years. During his stint at RSS, he met several key leaders, including Khattar. Saini was impressed by the leaders and decided to join the BJP.
- His political journey with the BJP started in 1996 when he started working to strengthen the party at the state level.
- In 2002, Saini’s work was recognized, and he was chosen as the party president in the Ambala cantonment. Subsequently, he became the district president in 2005.
- In 2009, he was appointed state general secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha in Haryana and district president of Ambala BJP in 2012.
- Saini also contested state assembly polls in 2010 from Naraingarh constituency but lost by a big margin.
- The turning point in his career came in 2014 when he won the assembly polls from the same constituency with a sizeable margin and was appointed a minister in the Haryana Cabinet in 2016.
- In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, he won from Kurukshetra and went to the Parliament as an MP. He was declared the president of the Haryana BJP in 2023, and currently serves the Chief Minister of Haryana after the Manohar Lal Khattar-led cabinet resigned amid a split between the BJP and JJP over seat sharing in upcoming polls.

Nayab Singh Saini hails from the influential Saini community of Haryana, which makes up 8% of the state’s population. He is a prominent face among the OBC Saini community, which has a sizeable population in Rewari, Yamunanagar, Ambala and Kurukshetra.
