Things ‘GOT’ taught us about the corporate world!

Game of thrones is now a household word, with its fandom ballooning like none other. Apart from its grand landscapes and strong characters, the show has managed to give us some important life lessons.

Each character in the story line made an immense impact, like strong forces to be reckoned with. Be it the unfettered resilience of Tyrion Lannister, the literal undying spirit of Jon Snow, making the best of situations as our mother of dragons-khaleesi or the repulsive and ever so strong Queen Cercei (giving an indirect shout out to women entrepreneurs today who stop at nothing).

Here are some GOT quotes to live by when working in the corporate bubble (or else winter might just come for you):

“A small man can cast a very large shadow” – Lord Varys

Success does not depend on your birthplace, gender, or your family treasury.  But it’s the determination and commitment will help you make it big in the corporate word. Your work and your leadership will pave the way for your success.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb; they cling to the real or the gods or love. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.” – Lord Baelish

Be ready in your mind, and adamant in your pursuit when climbing the ladder of development. Even if there is chaos, eventually things streamline and you find your way to being a successful entrepreneur.

“There is no shame in fear, what matters is how we face it” – Jon snow

Apparently, Jon Snow did know a thing or two about the fear of failing, which entrepreneurs do face at some point of their business trajectory. Face your fear and emulate it, and you will come out stronger each time.

The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives- Sansa Stark

Your team will eventually lead you to success, therefore, never undermine their value.

As our favorite show, Game of Thrones commences its last season, it has left us with more than just bloodshed and long-hauled battles for the throne, like strong avowals that go aptly with today’s corporate world.
