Joined family business “Shah Brothers Ispat Pvt ltd”, a partnership firm between Shah & Mehta family, which has survived 3 generations and now is in its 61st year of operation (founded in 1958).
Sanjiv Mehta is part of the working Advisory Committee of the Annamrita Board, which is being headed by Mr. Ajay Piramal. Besides this company’s board of directors are Mrs. Archana Chandra (Bain Capital), Mr. Samir Somaiya (Somaiya Hospital), Mrs. Meswani (Reliance Industries), Mr. Kushal Desai (Apar Industries), Mr. Vijay Shah (Piramal Industries) amongst others.
Sanjiv Mehta joined the family business about 36 years ago and there he was instrumental in leading the company from a revenue of Rs.50 Crores p.a. to Rs.1200 Crores, as a group at peak.
Additionally, Sanjiv Mehta is also the Vice President of Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI), a united platform to represent the various segments of steel industry across the nation. Recently, SUFI and Stock Exchange BSE signed a pact to bring in stability, avert risks and facilitate a level-playing field to one and all players in India— for a stronger and transparent steel trade.
