Praveen Sinha – The man who made Jabong worth millions in just a few months

Founder and managing director of the prominent NBFC firm PinCap, Praveen Sinha is a leading businessman and angel investor based in India. He is also the co-founder and ex-managing director of India’s major fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform jabong.com. As pinan angel investor and mentor, Sinha has been supporting some of the best startups across the nation by backing multiple dynamic and enthusiastic young aspirants to pursue their entrepreneurial journeys.

Post completion of his schooling from Modern School, Delhi, Praveen Sinha joined Delhi School of Engineering where he was awarded Bachelor of Engineering (B.E). After completing his engineering, he Joined Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. as the deputy manager and went on to work for five years until Sinha got himself enrolled in the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to pursue Master of Business Administration (MBA), Calcutta.

While pursuing his post-graduation, he briefly worked at Microsoft as a program manager. Post completion of his MBA, Praveen worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company for over three years. While doing his MBA, he founded his first entrepreneurial venture — AquaBrim Pvt. Ltd. which provides effective solutions for automation of water management system. From simple application of automating water pumps at residence to complex industrial projects, Aquabrim is now also used by Railways and has been effectively used in flood monitoring system, river monitoring system and smart cities.

In 2011, Praveen Sinha left McKinsey & Company to lay the foundation of jabong.com along with his partners. He became the managing director of the organisation and helped in establishing jabong.com as one of the leading e-commerce platforms within a short span of time. As the leader, Sinha was managing all the operations along with supply chain management, finance, human resources and administration of the organisation. His leadership was critical in establishing the organisation as a popular brand within a year of its foundation.Jabong was later  acquired by Flipkart.

Praveen left Jabong to setup a new business venture — PinCap. At present, he is the managing director of the the RBI registered new-age NBFC firm PinCap. Under the aegis of Praveen Sinha, PinCap has transformed into a technology-driven new-age financial service company from a traditional financing firm. Based in Gurgaon, Praveen Sinha led PinCap offers innovative financial solutions to businesses and helps them to enhance their capacity and create economies of scale.He also advises a significant number of VCs and investors on funding ventures, return optimization and India entry strategies. Praveen is also the external member of the  committee of Startups (CoS) which is a part of PSU fund to invest in startups.
