From Jamshedpur to FTII: The Remarkable Journey of R Madhavan

R. Madhavan, resonating with excellence and versatility in the Indian film industry, has recently assumed the prestigious position of President at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). The actor took the position soon after his directorial debut, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, bagged the Best Feature Film award at the 69th National Film Awards.

Madhavan’s Upcoming movie “Test” is expected to be released in the last quarter of this year. National Award Winner R. Madhavan, as the Film and Television Institute of India head, has been applauded and praised by Information & Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on his official Twitter page.

  1. Madhavan was offered the role of Jimmy Shergill in “My Name is Khan,” which he rejected as the shooting dates clashed with “3 Idiots.”
  2. The renowned actor has a fantastic profile as an actor and director, beginning with a few serials on television and eventually becoming a movie star.
  3. With an aspiration to become an Army Officer and as a capable NCC cadet, he was allowed to visit England and train with the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force before deciding to join the Indian army. Still, he was refused owing to the 6-month age cut-off.
  4. The chairman of the governing council is a vegetarian and actively advocates for animal rights.
  5. He was named “Cutest Male Vegetarian” in 2006 by PETA.
