Co-incidence of Meeting Your Co-Founder: Successful business leaders who dint look too far to find the right person

Choosing the right co-founders is quite essential as it would influence your company’s future success and growth. The Co-founder relationship is the most important factor of all business relationships as it would include everything, from constructive decisions to spending countless working hours for strong product delivery.

For instance, one would have great designing skills, but may lack engineer skills. In such a scenario, it is essential to team up with someone who has such an experience.

However, in the past, there have been many occasions, where neighbors, school mates and childhood friends have collaborated to establish a business. A serial entrepreneur Tom Williams says, “I’m totally unconvinced that two people can find a person, they haven’t known previously, and become effective co-founder.”

This certainly holds true for major Indian brands, where the success of few businesses such as Myntra, Ola, Snapdeal, InMobi, has been due to good coordination and common interests.

Myntra: Ethos of similar Education Institute

Now the leader of India’s online fashion commerce, Myntra began when three IIT-Kanpur alumni Vinnet Saxena, Ashutosh Lawania, and Mukesh Bansal got together to start up by themselves in 2007. Launched as a gift-personalization platform, he has now crossed about $1 Billion in the Indian market. This goes on to show that you can build your co-founder team from the same educational institution.

RedBus.in: Holistic approach of Alumnus

Founded in 2006 by Phanindra Sama, Sudhakar Pasupunuri and Charan Padmaraju, RedBus is one online bus ticketing platform that has gained prominence in no time. With the same educational background, Co-founders of RedBus adopted a holistic approach, due to which the company currently has a 70% share in the Indian online bus ticketing segment.

Ola, InMobi, Snapdeal, the list of companies that have been a success, owing to some great co-founding duos in India, is never-ending. Such examples set a great tone for the budding entrepreneurs, and as it’s been proven that for a successful business, one doesn’t need to look too far for finding the right co-founder.
