Political Career
Dhami has been very active since a young age, participating in NSS and NCC camps and he has also been involved in social work. Starting his political career, he joined Akhil Bharti Vidyarthee Parishad (ABVP) in 1990 and went on to serve the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh in various positions.
In 2001, Pushkar Dhami served as special advisor to the, then Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
From 20002 to 2008, He served as the state president of Bhartiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha.
Pushkar Singh Dhami’s real venture into politics started when he was elected BJP MLA from Udham Singh Nagar of Khatima constituency in 2012 and secured a second term in 2017 from the same constituency.
In 2021, Dhami was chosen as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand by the BJP High Command and Uttarakhand MLAs. Although Dhami lost his Khatima seat in the 2022 elections, he led his party to a victory in the elections.
