Prasiddhi Singh: A 9-Year-Old Leader and Inspirational Environmental Activist

At the young age of four, Prasiddhi Singh emerged as a remarkable environmental activist, earning her reputation as one of the world’s youngest champions for the planet. With an unwavering dedication to her cause, she has collaborated with numerous organizations and spearheaded the planting of 28 new fruit forests. Despite her tender age, Prasiddhi has shouldered a tremendous responsibility while excelling in her studies. Early Life and Inspiration:

Prasiddhi Singh was born in 2012 and grew up in the Chengalpattu district of Tamil Nadu. The only child of Praveen and Stuti Singh, both employed at Mahindra Research Valley in Mahindra World City, Chengalpattu, Prasiddhi’s love for nature blossomed from an early age. Drawn to the beauty of trees, bees, and seas, she found inspiration in the natural world surrounding her.

Catalyst for Change:

The devastating Vardha cyclone served as a catalyst for Prasiddhi’s environmental activism. Witnessing the destruction it caused, including the devastation of her cherished spots within Mahindra World City, she felt disheartened. This prompted her to participate in various community initiatives focused on replenishing greenery. Prasiddhi, an environmentalist of note, spearheaded plantation programs involving thousands of trees and fourteen forests across India, with a specific focus on the marginalized Tamil region. Her established Prasiddhi Forest Foundation became a driving force behind these endeavors, while she also engaged in regular environmental activities in Puducherry.

Impressive Achievements:

Prime Minister National Child Award 2021: Prasiddhi Singh was bestowed with the highest civilian honor, the Prime Minister National Child Award, in 2021, recognizing her as the youngest social entrepreneur.

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana: The Indian government selected Prasiddhi to represent Tamil Nadu in the welfare campaign Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, highlighting her significant contributions to environmental activism and her ability to inspire and mobilize the younger generation for positive change.

Diana Award 2022: In recognition of her exceptional efforts in environmental activism, Prasiddhi was honored with the Diana Award 2022, which acknowledges her ability to create enduring change on a global scale and inspire others to serve their communities.

Youngest Fruit Forest Creator: At the age of nine, Prasiddhi Singh planted 28 new fruit forests, earning recognition from the India Book of Records as the “Youngest Fruit Forest Creator.”

Prasiddhi’s Dual Mission: Prasiddhi’s mission is two-fold: to continue planting trees to enhance biodiversity until it becomes ingrained in our culture, and to spread awareness and unite people until environmental consciousness permeates literature and society.

Innovative Fundraising: Prasiddhi, a social entrepreneur, raised funds for her ventures through the sale of bookmarks, pencils, and grow kits. Even during the pandemic, she actively participated in online webinars and sessions to generate support and donations.

Selfless Philanthropy: Prasiddhi donated the prize money from the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya BAL Puraskar to her NGO, exemplifying her selflessness and unwavering commitment to protecting the environment.
